Description

An explosive rendering of the Golden Age Shield by one of comicdom's all-time greatest artists, Gil Kane! This was done circa 1985 at an open house sponsored by the Heroes Aren't Hard to Find comic shop in Charlotte, NC, owned by Shelton Drum. Long before he started what has become the best comic convention in the entire Southeast, Shelton invited well-known artists and writers to open houses at his store. While Kane never drew any Golden Age Shield adventures, he did do the art for some "Bentley of Scotland Yard" stories; "Bentley" was a back-up feature in PEP COMICS #s 1-40. Two Bentley splash pages by Gil Kane were subsequently used as covers for Green Publishing's LIBERTY COMICS #s 12 and 14.

It's in the same manner Kane drew many of the iconic images of his most well known characters! The power and anatomy are unmistakable.
