Description
Wally Wood cover art for the Gnome Press hardback edition of "The Survivors" by Tom Godwin which was published in 1958. The black and white art was printed in blue and white for publication. Created in ink and white paint on coquille board. Signed in the lower right of the 13" x 16.75" image area.

Purchased from the Roger Hill collection at the recent Heritage Signature Auction which I attended in person, to be there in support of Terry and her family. Roger was a very close friend for over 40 years. He was an amazing collector and one of the most knowledgeable comic historians and authors in our field. He is greatly missed.

Wonderfully works in the silhouettes of solid black and white and lets the complexity of the vast cosmos be in contrast.

No one could better emulate the wonder and majesty of space than Wood.  Great pickup Glynn!
