Description

Gambit and the X-Ternals was such a cool Robin Hood/Space Pirate themed drama, with the Ragin' Cajun at the helm.

This was my first introduction to Salvador Larroca’s pencils. I remember at the time it was a little jarring being that the first two issues of this series were drawn by Tony Daniel who has a somewhat different style.

Nonetheless, I fondly recall poring over Larroca’s pages with his big 90’s art and memorable scenes, thanks to the help of stalwart X-Men scribe Fabian Nicieza.

Gambit and Deathbird dive headlong into the nexus point of the M’kraan crystal, where they are met by Jahf, who welcomes them to the destruction of the universe.

Every part of AOA was fascinating in how the universe was reimagined. Gambit leading his own team made lots of fans take notice him as a leading man. A lot of people who didn't know who Deathbird was probably got their introduction here.
