Description
graphite on 12" x 8.75" paper

This is a concept rendering of the antagonist Dr. Phileas Fessenden from the very first Xenozoic Tales (AKA Cadillacs & Dinosaurs) story, "Xenozoic!" featured in Kitchen Sink Press's Death Rattle #8. To my knowledge, this prelim wasn't featured there, nor is it published in my Flesk collection "Xenozoic." I think you'll agree it's a cool piece, nonetheless.
Mark Schultz is one of the nicest guys I've met in the industry and I'm really happy to own a piece of his art (well, a second piece now ;) )

Done body horror with humor and finesse!  Schultz's pencil illo makes it look like an entry into a book of scientific oddities!

Can't say for sure, but it may be first time to market?
