Peace on Earth was Ross' first in a series of oversized one-shots, all written by Paul Dini, that each focused on real world issues, here Superman shines a spotlight on world hunger and finds that it's a problem that even the Man of Steel can't solve easily. Ross' work here is some of the best of his storied career, created during his most fertile period, hot on the heels of Marvels and Kingdom Come he used his newly found clout in the industry to tell stories that were personal to him. The work on these pages is stunning, Ross captures the innate selflessness of Superman in ways that few artists in hi near 100 year history have been able to achieve.
