DescriptionTom Fowler"Kenneth Bartholomew Frankenstein & Friends" 2024 Ink on paper 11" x 17" Tom Fowler is probably my favorite artist at this moment. The only thing stopping me ordering a commission from him right this moment is that he doesn't have a list open! Every once and awhile he does a piece for me that is incredibly wonderful, but not as wild as some of his work. When I saw him post this on Instagram, I immediately thought this was the type of wild I was looking for. I think if you compare my Dante's Inferno commission and this piece (Which were done around the same time) you can see the best of both worlds. The Dante piece is beautifully composed. The characters faces show a range of emotions. There is a ton going on, but the art draws your focus to Dante despite him being the simplest part of the piece. In this piece, members of the Creature Commandos are ripping the throats out of Nazi's in a cloud of gunsmoke and gore. Look how happy Vincent looks in the upper left corner! It's a glorious piece even if it might not have been something I would have chosen for a topic. Social/Sharing |
