Complete 3-Page Bob Dylan Story Original Art (c. 1980). Underground Comix master Beck razzes Bob Dylan, whose noisy evangelical conversion of the 1970s drew new followers and alienated established fans in roughly equal measure. Rolling Stone magazine's Ed Ward characterized the resulting album, Slow Train Coming, as "Smug on the Tracks" -- alluding to Dylan's more generally admired Blood on the Tracks (1975) -- and excoriated the artist's "I'm saved and you're not" attitude. Beck's response is similarly critical, with the added edge of an unflattering caricature and an assumption of hypocrisy and exploitation. Ink over graphite on individual panels of Bristol board, pasted in place on backing sheets. No publishing pedigree is documented. Ink over graphite on Bristol board, with an image area of approximately 9.5" x 13". General toning and extensive adhesive staining, with occasionally loosened panels. Intact, however, and as such in Very Good condition. From the Denis Kitchen Collection. Social/Sharing |

Folk singer and voice of a generation of the 60's. Then Dylan went electric. Then Dylan went born again. Freewheelin' as always, you can tell why Dennis Kitchen would have had this in his collection having seen it all.

Denis Kitchen founded Kitchen Sink Press (KSP) in 1969 and for 30 years published many of the most prominent and innovative creators in the comics field. Would he publish these Dylan´s comic history here?
