Description
Doctor Strange is my favorite character and there has been some great Doctor Strange artists through out the years. At the top of my list is Steve Ditko, the legend. But one artist that has been on my list of favorite Doctor Strange artists is Dan Green. He was an amazing inker, inking some of the great artists though his career. He was also a great penciler and painter. His Doctor Strange run has always been at the top of my favorite runs. But his work on this graphic novel is amazing, from the compelling story to the beautiful painted pages. I have come across some pages from this graphic novel over the last couple of years but this page really drew me in. The scene on this page is painted superbly, from the birds, trees to the double pyramid. Doctor Strange floating observing this mystical scene from our perspective just adds to this surreal scene. I really love this addition to my collection and RIP to one of the greats, Dan Green.

Lovely piece that shows the skills Dan had beyond inking!

Epic project with JM,  Ive had many long talks about this project with Dan, he once emailed me all these pages with no dialogue in the way.  This was such an epic work of art when i was a youngin.  RIP Dan, you are missed indeed.  💔

Man!  Love the textures and the muted colors throughout...the Doc being a smaller page of the image in observation at the bottom right just adds the overall grandeur of the scene.  Super effective stuff.  Huge congrats as the Doc fan you are!

Awesome page. Beautiful, even macabre. Love the positioning of Strange.

Shambhala is a mystical kingdom in Tibetan Buddhist tradition, and this double pyramid surrounded by gorgeous forest of trees and birds would certainly seem to qualify as that. Gorgeous painted splash by Dan Green, with Doctor Strange floating in the air above the branch of a tree. Stephen is clearly in a quiet, contemplative state, perhaps awed by the gorgeous paradise that seems to surround him. Beautifully composed splash by Green, who really seems to touch on the mystical in this beautiful watercolor. I hope you have this framed and hanging in a prominent place, it is truly a museum-quality page!

Thanks Bill, yes I do, check out the additonal image. Most of my framed art is on the second floor of my home, but this one was special and is hanging im my living room on the first floor. Its a great conversational piece.
