Description

The Russian mystic Pastor Mikhail grants Prince Rudolf a vision of his illegitimate son being born:

“You have made such a long journey, Prince. But I fear that, as soon as you have heard what I have to tell you, you will immediately want to return quickly and without delay to your castle, and to your world.”

“Why?”

“Because you will most likely think me crazy, your highness.”

“Do you think that I do not believe you?”

“No, I think... or rather, I fear... that unfortunately you will believe me. Come closer, and open your mind.”

“But... Ah!”

(Cries of childbirth echo through the halls from a bedroom...) “Aaaah!”

“Courage, Klara. We’re almost there…”

On the published page, Klara's chest was covered with a sheet rather than exposed. It must have been a digital emendation. Makes sense; women giving birth are usually still mostly dressed.
