Description
For years and years I'd reread Astonishing X-Men #1-24 and the Giant-Size issue and then just stopped. As far as I was concerned, that's all there was to this series. Kitty was trapped in the missile so no point reading further, right? Then I saw that two story arcs later she was back! So I read the next story line; Ghost Boxes.

Sure, I'd seen Simone Bianchi art before, but this was like what if the X-Men were in an issue of Heavy Metal Magazine! It looks so unlike any X-Men story I've ever read. The page layouts are just crazy and the gray tone washes are amazing.

Masterfully presented like a collage of renaissance period drawings by Bianchi.  The floating dismembered head of Cyclops floating in the center is so eyecatchingly real with the cleft chin.

Remarkable. Bianchi's X work is truly some of his finest hours. Congrats on scoring a slice of this insanely eXceptional story!
