DescriptionMy two favorite Marvel one-shots/graphic novels are Spider-Man vs. Wolverine and X-Men: God Loves, Man Kills. Finding pages from either book is extremely hard, with GLMKs being exceptionally rare. I picked up a decent page earlier this year and was happy it would be my one-and-done.A chance conversation last month with a fellow collector started a dialog, and I was able to upgrade my page through trade for this beauty! To have four of my favorite X-Men (Wolverine, Nightcrawler, Colossus, and Kitty Pryde) in full costume, displaying powers in the danger room, is a dream. ESPECIALLY on this book! Pretty exciting! Most people know I'm a cover and splash guy. But there are certain classic and iconic stories that I would break that rule for. A page from God Loves, Man Kills is certainly one of those exceptions. Great score James! Congratulation.

Why buy quantity, when you can get quality. And by quality I mean..historic! Just a tremendous pick up. Huge congrats!

These are very hard to come across and getting to upgrade is even more rare! Very nice balance of action on this page! Brant anderson and Chris Claremont's masterpiece. Neal Adams brought relevence into comics, this kicks down the door. This may be one of the most significant Marvel stories because it directly ties into the deeper themes of the X-Men and what makes them, in today's terms, woke. Their fight against society's extremism and prejudice on full display as they are the outsiders demonized as the ones that will come to small towns and be the scapegoat for their failures. No doubt, the freakish ones that don't conform to the look of natives will be the ones accused to eating cats, eating dogs, and pets. They're the ones coming in by the millions to take your jobs and god forbid have relations with your kind. Beneath the veneer of superhero action and adventure, we discover they have more in common with us than we care to know. This shit is woke and I love it.

Great page. Love these graphic novels. They were big and printed on what felt was really fancy paper stock.

Holy moley, James! I had no idea how you'd be able to level up your collection - with the caliber it was already at, was such a thing even possible? - but then you go and add a page like this, and everything becomes clear. :) Flippin' FABULOUS add, James! Gorgeous action storytelling here, with each tier of the page given its own visual identity: an open, bold top tier, allowing Colossus to strut his stuff (love the white paint flames he's blocking), while the cage's bars in tier 2 provide some sweet visual texture. My favorite, though, is how Brent moves the viewer's eye from tier 3 to 4 with the thrown machinery; you just naturally follow the arc of that puppy right down to the next level, and the impact is tangible. (Would have loved a "THOOM!!" there instead of a "CLANG", though, as we had already gotten a "CLANG!" (with an exclamation point, even!) for the cage drop on the tier above, but I guess you can't have everything... 😜 ). And you get a "BAMF"!! God loved, but this PAGE kills. Fantastic score, James! Mega-congrats!
