In the tag-team interview that was conducted by Andrew Sumner with him and Bruno Redondo which was one of the events on the convention schedule Jorge Fornés said that prior to breaking into the comics field he had worked for 20 years in a garage so was fully-versed in car mechanics but now that he was doing something that he truly loved he did not take it for granted bearing in mind what he had to endure to get where he is today. He said he was “living the dream”. When I asked him what he considered his favourite/best piece of work he replied Rorschach and I wonder now why I did not request that character when he agreed to sketch for me. For anyone who was a bit puzzled by the very meta nature of that maxi-series JF explained that he and Tom King had planned it as the equivalent of a comic book Rorschach test for the reader. With this in mind it does make a bit more sense to me what they were trying to achieve. My thanks again to Jorge Fornés for this terrific convention drawing.
