Description

On pages 195-197, Nathan narrates his knife fight against Frost:

“Frost is blinded by rage. He lunges at me like a raging fury. His blows are violent but delivered without balance. I easily catch him with his guard down. His reactions are instinctive but increasingly less precise. I give him a slight opening and anticipate his next blow, which will come with the dagger. As expected, the blow comes, and Frost goes completely off balance. I grab his wrist. My grip is painful, and he drops the knife. I grab the weapon on the fly, before it falls, and a moment later, it's all over.”

(Carolyn has been knocked into the whirlpool and is about to lose her grip on a rock.) “Help!!”

“Carolyn!”

“I can’t fight it any more, Nathan! Help me! Aaaaah!”

A man of action in one on one combat!  The sequence is clear and decisive with a deathblow!  But a hero's job is never done..

Well played Nathan! Now go be a hero again and save Carolyn from the dangers of big wave surfing up against the rocks.
