Description

I've been loving Anthony Marques' style and his retro pieces, harkening back to the Golden Age of comics. At the same time, his style has that timeless Mazzucchelli vibe to it, which immediately pulled me into his work.

When Essential Sequential opened Anthony's list a few weeks ago, and considering the very fair pricing, I commissioned a Batman. For less than $100, Anthony made this fun bust of the Dark Knight.

There's a lot to love in this 9x12 piece, but I especially like the added pencil shading.

A great Year One look to Batman! Mazz, Michael Cho, etc. the art is a nod to the golden age crime noir roots of Batman.
