Wow! He went at this hard and with so many layers of paint before finally putting in the fine details.

Might be just me (and I have no idea whether it's intentional or not) but he seems to have depicted a more mature version of the character. Maybe to reflect the passage since his classic run on NM. In any case, a stunning portrait,

Funny Story, Bill sent an in progress piece to his rep, she sent it to me & said " Here it is how do you like it"... I told her it doesn't look finished in a very nice way.." She said we can do another.."

I wake up the next day there's an email & there's an apology with the finished piece attached.. She thought it was finished, when I picked this up Bill was Laughing , he knew what happened, he told me he Loved working on these cards there about 10 others he did 5 were in color.. Bill is Legend & Master..
