Description9-2024...Catching back up on some recent additions, happy to add a piece from the celebrated JLI run of Giffen, DeMatteis, Maguire, and Gordon! Blue Beetle's bug is quite a sight and has some included dots added on to enhance the texture and shadow appearance. Impressive looking Batman and funny script as expected from the series! From the description...This wonderful example from the Kevin Maguire era Justice League comes from the first issue that carried the title Justice League International, #7, published in 1987. Prior to this, the title was simply Justice League. The page features Maguire's incredible finished pencils over Keith Giffen's breakdowns. Al Gordon handled inks. It features team leader Batman along with Black Canary, Booster Gold, Blue Beetle and Mister Miracle. The team is completing a mission and boarding Blue Beetle's flying ship, the Bug. Batman is acting very parental, telling Black Canary that she can wait to eat, and insisting that Mister Miracle handle Monitor Duty when they return to their HQ. Miracle mentions that he was planning to spend time with his wife, Big Barda. Batman comments that spouses are not a idea in their line of work and Miracle responds that his wife could "probably take the Joker with one hand!" The banter among the heroes, written by Giffen and J.M. DeMatteis, was a major highlight of the Post-Crisis Justice League era, along with the incredible Maguire artwork. Social/Sharing |

Giffen always had the best facial expressions and the charactors in the background are the highlight of the page for me. You don't see too many of these pages-thanks for sharing

Batman chews up the scenery on this page! Maguire faces are great and so is Blue Beetle's Bug when done in his flawless precise line!

Great page, and the sublte comedy like Blue Beatle getting edged out on the 2nd panel, is brilliant Maguire.
