Description"The Dead Draftees of Regiment Six!" by Michael Fleisher and Russell Carley. Seventh page of the 18-page story. The grifter, who is masquerading as an abolitionist, gets the stable boy drunk. He learns that the induction center previously rejected the young man because of a bum leg. He gets the young man to accompany him to the conscription center to trick the stable boy into being his substitute for the draft. Once there, he bribes the registrar to take the stable boy, despite being drunk, as his replacement. The official happily deceives the young man into signing the consent form. The grifter puts the finishing touch on the double cross, making sure his "substitute" is shipped out while still inebriated and asleep. Social/Sharing |

Was wondering if you had page 9 to tie them together. Nice!

Twisted and funny how the kid is sleeping it off with a smile on his face like his buddy got him to consent to an embarrassing tattoo.

I used to rock and roll all night and party every day. Then it was every other day... now I'm lucky to find half an hour a week in which to get funky.
