Jotaro Kujo by Terumi NISHII

I’m getting old, that’s a plain fact and here is proof of that. I’m very well organised as regards my comic book collection (and all geek related stuff) and yet no so long ago, I was rearranging the Manga room section of my library when he stumbled on a mook or dojinshi I did not recall owning. I opened the protective sleeve to flip through it and happened on his quick remark by the artist.

I don’t have any recollection of meeting her, which probably did not happen, nor of buying this sketched book which is probably more forgivable (and likely).

Terumi NISHII is a well-known veteran animator and she worked on such important Animé/Manga franchise as Jojo’s Bizarre adventures or Saint Seiya (to name a few well-known as her resume is much more impressive than that). She is also a very important social figure in the Animation industry as she has denounced the poor work conditions of animators and bad practices of an industry that is well known for crushing its resources. To the point of trying to unionize sadly without much success.

She was the character designer and animation director (on top of many roles) on the “recent” Diamond is unbreakable arc, the most famous of the series, from which comes our hero Jotaro Kujo.

With a Jotaro by Araki himself, one by Junichi Hayama and now this one, I feel like I got that franchise covered by its most important creators ;)
