Description

Glad to have finally purchased a 1970s (barely) National Lampoon cover and got that off my bucket list.

Alex, the artist, says "No matter what sort of baboon you are... money gets you everything."

This cover art for the December, 1979 �Success� issue of the National Lampoon started out as a black and white stipple drawing on Strathmore Archival Bristol. It was then photographed to create a high contrast black and white film that was back colored using Prismacolor Pencils. This is basically the same technique used by Walt Disney to make animation cells. I have both the original black and white and the finished color painting.

The original art measures 13.5� x 19�

The effect with the textures is fabulous! It is still true that ugly guys succeed with the hottest ladies having a bit of charm and now a deep bitcoin wallet.
