Description

I�ve written at length on my love for Jesse�s work in my write-ups for some of the other Lonergan pieces in my gallery.

In this case, however, I don�t have much to say. Something about the drawing and colors just spoke to me and insisted I add this one to my growing Lonergan collection.

The whites of her eyes really hold my gaze. They just don�t want to let go.

You just wonder how long he'll be experimenting with this type of color art and how rare this style of his artwork will become.

At OAX 2025 I got a Batgirl commission from Uko Smith, and this was piece captures exactly what intrigued me about asking for Batgirl. In the best portrayals of her there's an innocence, a slight ambivalence perhaps, a girlish thoughfulness, bravery of course, some plucky naivete, and a certainty of always trying to do the right thing. This piece is so evocative, I can see why it mesmerizes you.
