Description

Somewhere around 2016 I sold the Gene Ha cover to Top 10 the 49ers and I instantly regretted it. I told myself that it was a large piece that had something like six additional pieces of art that were all digitally placed together to make the cover to the published book and that I was never going to be able to frame it in a meaningful way. Also at that point I hadn't bought any new OA in years and I had a freshly purchased house that needed a ton of work. Well, that was a dumb way of justifying a bad decision. So when I got back into collecting OA after a thirteen year gap, one of the things I wanted was to find another Gene Ha cover to make up for "losing" that piece. I really like the this cover and as I watched the previous owner list it for sale over and over it kept teasing me. Finally during the fall 2024 Comic Art Live, I pulled the trigger and worked out a deal to acquire it. Unfortunately I don't feel like anything will fill the void from letting go of that other cover. Someday I'll have to look up the guy I sold it to and see if/when he's ready to part with it.
