Gorgeous Key Master background and a full house of Smurfs in the cel setup, really cool and a great addition to tickle the saturday morning cartoon nostalgia bone! Congrats man!
P.S. I think animation background pieces are especially cool also, especially given they could have possibly been used a lot more throughout the production of any animated series compared to single frame cels (although I will say I disagree and still consider those "art" too personally).

I too loved that animated series and introcuded my children to it. And bought a of those plastic toys for them when they were small :)
(years ago, I also learned that the mother of a friend was an intervalist on that show as part of one of the Belgian animation studios that helped produce it).

I loved the Smurfs cartoon as well. I love this piece because of the horizontal orientation, much like a newspaper strip daily, and because it's complete with so many characters AND the background. GO BLUE!
Smurf's Up!
Wow - SO cool! Chalk me up as definitely subscribing to the "animated backgrounds -and- foreground characters are all art" thread. Ans yes, more Saturday mornings than I can count were spent in our household with Paps Smurf and the gang. (My brother and I had even mastered the Colecovision game! :) ) But this is a spectacular and beautifully realized piece that warmly invites in -waves- of nostalgia - wow! And like Rubén said, the lineup of key Smurfs in the vertical, "newspaper strip" format makes for a truly impressive and display-worthy piece. Super Smurfy pick up, Duke!! Congrats!
