Description

Another ticketed head sketch from Sanford at NYCC 2022, I had the idea to ask him to draw Basquiat, a favorite artist of mine from outside the world of comic art.

He went on to render a knockout little head sketch, conveying great detail of Basquiat's personal style.

Sanford liked his handiwork enough that it became his Instagram avatar for a few months.

Much thanks to Sanford and Felix for my collection (more to be posted) of these con sketches.

No doubt, Basquiat's art inspired many artists including Sanford. So much energy in he mini portrait that screams loud instead of being quiet dressed in his fancy Armani suit.
