DescriptionPublished at last - this amazing cover by Arthur Adams, drawn 2 years before the launch of Longshot and long before he became a household name.According to the amazing Mr. Adams, he would set up at San Diego Comic Con and would bring pieces like this one with him to sell to fans (and to show off in hopes of catching the eye of editors). No - it's had several owners, and in fact was sold through Heritage three time, but after being an underbidder the first two times, I was finally lucky enough to snag it this last time it sold.

Such an outstanding use of negative space. The composition is jam packed with highly detailed characters and serves as an outstanding example of his early work. Actually hard to believe this is his early work. Congrats!

Love his early to mid eighties look. Being a big Golden fan, I'm sure he had a blast doing this one.

Great power and imagination! You can tell there was Star Wars and Michael Golden influence in what Arthur Adams was doing in this piece.
