Description

At Baltimore Comic Con (and a number of other locations), Lucas, son of Jim Lee, was selling the first three issues of his comic Wallow. If you bought all three, he provided a 9x12 sketch as a gift. I assumed that the character was from the comic, but I was wrong. I have no idea who it is. Do you?

I think selling these issues in conjunction with his father's con appearances was a clever marketing idea. I know that I wouldn't have bought it without the backing of Jim's name.

Here's what Jim wrote about it:

Set in a mesmerizing world inspired by the enchanting kingdoms of �Berserk,� the epic saga of �Game of Thrones,� and the intricate universe of �Warhammer��this spellbinding story follows two young brothers discovering a shared, hidden heritage while confronting the ghosts of their past.

Sounds good, right?

The reading experience was less. I think the sketch is much better than anything in the comic. I found the color muddy and the story pretty weak.

Still, I do like the sketch.

I like this sketch. It's insight into the influences the guy has growing up in the shadow of a mega famous artist that has to find his own voice. Jim Lee has lots of kids and this one courageously chooses to get into the field that he knows he'll be judged maybe even more harshly than anywhere else.
