Bolton made Black Dragon to have the feel of classical fantasy illustration in the middle ages and the result is one of the more high end works of the mid 80's.

Striking work on this page with exceptional use of lighting! Bolton created a standout series. Perhaps one of the few times I could prefer the original art to not contain the word balloons? Would not want any of this covered up.
