Beautiful Gulacy art! To be fair, the comic book version is and has always been pretty lame, though he was created at a time when the target audience was aged 5 to 8 or thereabouts, so it's understandable. The reason he's cool in the television series is because he DOESN'T look anything like the comic book version. He's just a mobster played by a great actor. Won the Golden Globe for his portrayal, too. Well deserved!
It's the new hat. Just screams "cool".
Nice page, man, dig those inks! Congrats!
Sweet new Darwyn Cooke designed Catwoman! She's been modernized and yet Penguin is still in the mode of Batman Returns and fits perfectly in between her thigh gap.
Don't feed the penguins!
Fun style!
Strong page!! Wonderful rendering of these two iconic characters. Yet it's pages like this that make me long for the days where the lettering was put right on the page. The dialogue here would be such a welcomed addition.
really great art and all, no surprise there with Gulacy and he's got the Darwyn style Catwoman looking really great and captures that old school Penguin pretty nicely as well...
That said...those close up panels of Penguin's face sweating bullets...I dunno if that's completely accurate because penguins don't have any sweat glands, therefore they can't sweat. Just sayin'...
What if I told you that it wasn't sweat?
you just blew my mind! or did someone just blow Penguin's...
sorry, sorry, sorry
Why was there a room for Trading Cards? There was no original art in the room. Room should have been used for more artists.
Fabulous Catwoman page by Paul Gulacy and Jimmy Palmiotti! Great compostion here. The panel layout is awesome. Love that opening panel from behind Catwoman with the Penguin miming shooting her with his finger. Then Catwoman (Looking very much like Darwyn Cooke's version) smiles and plays with her whip. Then we have a closeup of Pegnuiin as he does a slow burn and pulls out his umbrella gun and starts to shoot for real this time. Gulacy's drawing throughout ia fantastic. And Jimmy's inks are spot on. Wonderful pick-up, congrats!
