Description

In the first four panels, Hobbes the British journalist unsuccessfully tries to charm his German colleague Ingrid.

“It's vampire weather out there. A real storm... or special effects, Ingrid?”

“Vance is a lucky man. Or he made a deal with Indra, the god of storms, to help him set the mood.”

“This is no night to be alone. If you like, my friend, I am willing to test the chains of your bedroom for myself.”

“Hmph! They would be wasted on you, Hobbes.”

Meanwhile, Kurjak and Nina (one of the eco-activists from Breite Reserve) have acquired bogus credentials to crash Dracula Park's inaugural party:

“Sorry we're late. My co-worker and I missed the train to Turda and then had to rent a car to get up here. But we made it. I am Jack Forest, publisher of 'Famous Monsters of Transylvania' magazine. This is my editor-in-chief, Myra Schwabsky. Here are our credentials.”

“Come in.”

“All right, Nina. They bought it. You can relax.”

“But... there will be other Americans at the party. And me, with my Romanian accent...”

“Don't worry. With that name, Myra Schwabsky could have just emigrated from Poland.”

“But there are photos on the invitations. They don't look like us.”

I like the sound effects, from the rumbling thunder to the "SKREEE" of a squeaky gate.

Ingrid could get chained up at home.  She's looking for a more modest type while on vacation.  Dracula Park's security is a joke.  Once the theme park Karens demand to see a manager, they'll fold.

One thing I missed was how and why Harlan and company persuaded Nina to accompany them to the castle. And why did they also reveal their true identities to her.

That's true. Many issues of Dampyr contain a scene where the latest "new human friends" learn that Harlan is a Dampyr, Tesla is a vampire, and vampire hunting is their game. We saw such a scene in issue #228 "The Servant" for instance. It's such a common occurence in this series that sometimes it's assumed rather than shown, to avoid repetition of similar material every month.
