Description

Tesla has been separated from Harlan and Kurjak but feels constrained to guard hapless humans instead of looking for them:

�Where are you, Harlan? Where are you, sweetie? I would like to search for my partners, but I don't dare stray too far from the guest rooms. I might have to intervene again� What are you, the house kitten? Let me see you better� You're a cat! I've always had a thing for catty women, sister. But be careful. I can bite too� Aah! It burns! What's in those claws, cat-woman?�

"Sweetie" refers to Kurjak. Tesla and Kurjak are often portrayed in an open dating relationship. Her attacker here is Chordewa, the vampiric were-panther introduced briefly on page 104. We see that the beast can indeed cause physical damage to Tesla, as well as to her tank top and vest.
