Description

So many of the greats of the modern era are digital-only or digital-mostly. When you have a chance to grab a traditional piece from them you have to take it. Marco's covers are outside of my budget, but I'm glad to have gotten a couple of his Red Series pieces. Marco doesn't take commission lists these days, and he doesn't do fuller sketches at cons, just remarques. Instead he prefers to bring these pre-done pieces to shows that he dubs the Red Series.

His star has been shining brightest now that he's with Hickman on the absolutely incredible Ultimate Spider-Man, but my favorite work of his is his run on Daredevil, particularly with Chip Zdarsky. I'm pretty sure he's worked on Daredevil more than any other character, between the Chip issues and his previous fill in work (going back to 2010) I think he's penciled at least 3 dozen interiors.

I love the costume designs he created on this run. Elektra's Daredevil costume is fantastic, as is Matt in his King Daredevil look that we see here. I wouldn't have minded if the beard, collar, and half helm look had stuck around longer. So glad to have this gorgeous example of King Daredevil with gritted teeth in the driving rain and billy club at the ready.

Everything works here to show a great intensity! The rain and the path across the helmet gives the piece even more dimension.

Chechettos daredevil is an all timer of a run, and his art is a big part of why
