DescriptionMy Manix commission for 2025 OAX was "Snoopy vs Calvin and Hobbes". After that I let Manix do his thing so he brought in the Red Barron (Snoopy) vs Calvin and Spaceman and Hobbes. I love that the spaceship crashed on the side and Calvin has his spacesuit on.I got to see him paint this on Saturday afternoon at the show and some of you might have seen it in progress. Check my 2024 OAX Gallery for last year's piece by Manix and I think this one is even better than last year. Social/Sharing |

love it! the setting is beautiful and the characters are delightfully Manix but feel closer to their source material than usual which adds a different vibe. great piece

Good Grief! What a fabulous commission from Manix Abrera! Love the idea you had of Snoopy meeting Calvin and Hobbes. And of course Manix would think of Calvin as Spaceman Spiff and Snoopy as the daring WWI pilot. Both Snoopy and Calvin live in their own dream worlds, so it's not so hard to image them meeting in their dreams. Not hard for you anyway. I didn't think of it. Love the colors Manix used on this piece. They really add a dream-like quality to the final illustration. Love that walking space pod that Manix dreamed up for Hobbes. It's just what the illustration needed. Great pick-up, congrats!

It was awesome watching Manix continue to add details to this at OAX! The Red Baron's flowing cape really is the perfect touch.

Manix just gets better and better, which is saying something since he started out great. Love seeing what he comes up with when people let him go wild. Excellent scene.
