DescriptionThe Eight Death's of Spider-Man story started in November 2024 with issue 61 and finished in March 2025 with issue 70 and for my money it did not disappoint. Joe Kelly's out of the box writing allowed for Ed McGuinness to draw some truly inspiring comics complete with action, some horror and psychedelic elements, and wild new characters and character designs.Kelly's character set ups and McGuinness' art more than kept me interested. Just check out how cool Parker looks in this DOOM inspired suit, while also giving him the powers of the sorcerer supreme with fun spidey-themed twists. The story starts with Dr Doom tapping in Spidey to take on the Scions of Cyttorak to defend the fate of earth. ASM 61 gave us the first look at Cyntros (big red guy on this page) and his siblings. This page gave us a first look at Doom-Spider's new sorcerer supreme powers and they are too cool! Social/Sharing |

The costume design is so good! That top panel really highlights it, and then we get full on action. The all horizontal panel layout works here and there is great detail to be had in each panel. Nice one!

Wow! Wow! Wow! What a kick-ass page from Amazing Spider-Man 61! Absolutely gorgeous art by Ed McGuinness and stellar inks by Mark Farmer! I love that top panel with Doom-Spider generating a spell using the powers of the Sorcerer Supreme! And that second panel of Doom-Spider battling Cyntros is unreal! Love the closeup of Cyntros resisting the spell in the third panel. And then there's the climatic fourth panel with Doom-Spider creating a weblike mystical dome over himself in an effort to keep Cyntros back! I have to say this is one of the best McGuinness/Palmer pages I've ever seen! Stunning pick-up, congrats!

Love that design element of the hand magicks incorporating Spidey/web elements! And of course, top to bottom energy as only Ed can bring. Congrats!
