The kids are mini versions of their parents! Young even reduces the size of their hair styles while still maintaining their loose feel.
The boy is Elmo Tuttle, a neighborhood kid who seems to appear more often in the strip than Cookie and the Bumstead's son, Alexander, but Elmo does suspiciously look like he could be Dagwood's son.
