Description
To me, Steve Rogers will always be Cap, and my favorite characters. Throughout the years, I am glad Marvel has kept Steve around as he's given up the mantle of Cap a few times. I enjoyed this series when it first came out. I loved Pacheco's covers (sadly, he left us way too soon!)... This amazing #1 cover is Tim Townsend inks over Pacheco blue lines, and I love how it shows Cap fighting alongside soldiers in the background, with Steve in his Super Soldier outfit in the foreground... Glad I was able to pick this one up from Heritage a couple of weeks ago!

Very nice staging of the new look Cap over the traditional war time Cap.  It sets up the title to show us how war is waged in today's world.

Great looking piece! I love the soft, fine line inking by Townsend. But where is Pacheco's signature?

Because it was blue lines, I don't think the piece ever made it back to Pacheco to sign it... In the final cover, they added his signature digitally.... That's why if you noticed, there's a blank and then it says " + Townsend", where Tim knew that Pacheco's signature would go right above his... it just never happend :(

Yes, the " & Townsend" is what I was referring to. I wouldn't have needed to ask you though, if you would just scan your art in COLOR, which looks way better by the way, because I would've immediately been able to tell that it was inked over blueline pencils.

Got 2 great Cap images in this #1 cover - sweet, indeed!  I remember picking up this book off the stands at my LCS.  Congrats, AG!

Steve Rogers is to you  what Peter Parker is to me.  There is only one Spider-man and only one Captain America.  This is a beauty of a cover by the late great Carlos Pacheco.  I imagine this is something that his son Alejandro would have been proud to display in the Pacheco museum that he opened.
