Description
The page has a pulse and is, without a shadow of a doubt, the favourite of my collection.

I don't know how many times I've read Born Again. As single issues, as a trade, and then in original art form via the Artist Edition.  A lot.  It's easily a top 5 book for me.  Top 3 possibly.

Stories like Sandman, Born Again, Year One, DKR, and Watchmen really opened up my appreciation and enjoyment of comics in my mid teens after growing up on 90s Marvel and DC books like Batman, Superman, Hulk, Thor, and Avengers.  But Daredevil Born Again and Batman Year one stood out from the others due to the artist helping further elevate the story.

David Mazzucchelli knows how to layout a page, to pace a scene, and to dose a page with the right amount of ink.  Three panels running across the top, three panels stacked at the bottom.  Daredevil and Nuke in the full flow of battle, Ben and Glori there to witness the event and be in direct danger, and then DD hitting Nuke with enough force to get a SKKRAK in the killer final panel.  Love it.

Colossal addition! A Marvel milestone! #233 is the epitome of the most relevant "resurrection" of a heroe in Marvel Universe! There are just a few pages with MAtt in costume! I could say that's a grail.

Climactic conclusion to one of the most revered comic books of all time.

Dave and Frank made magic together and this page is an amazing example of that magic.

You snagged this right before the new series too! This piece would be a crown jewel in any collection!

Congratulations.

MAN.  Huge congratulations on this, Simon.  Great looking page from a renowned run, to say the least (I just reread Born Again BTW and still no question why it holds the status it does), and from a top 3 book of yours all time?  Can't beat it.  Here, love panel 1 - starts off the page with a proverbial BANG, or KKRMPP, rather :)  Congrats, again!

I would have never connected it to you.  Nothing about it said gangster until this...It's a nice piece of work, Mazzucchelli.  You shouldn't have signed it.

A true DD Mazzucchelli (rather than those fill in pages he did earlier on which everyone is trying to cash in?) is a true win, congrats.

Incredible page! It must feel amazing to achieve this collecting goal. Starts with a KKRMPP and ends with a SKKRAKK. I also love the KLIK, which plays a role in so many of the great scenes in the book. Well done!!

Gadzooks!  An absolute beast of a page, Simon - WOW.  I actually just re-read Born Again (again) to prep for leaving this comment (oh, darn!  gotta read it again!) and I just love the multi-gear storytelling going on here, with Ben's story finally crossing -directly- over into Matt's and them sharing panels together (they were in one panel on one page together in the previous issue, but Matt was sneaking out the back of the soup kitchen to avoid Ben).  And even though the stakes are different in those stories (and they're moving at different speeds - Ben's coat is on fire - Matt's trying to stop a maniac from murdering and/or destroying a chunk of Manhattan), they're merged seamlessly together, like David's art is a great gear coupling, easily accommodating the different scales of things.

I love the storytelling all over the place, but especially how the viewer is left to fill in DD's action between panels 1&3 (landing on Nuke and rolling away with Nuke's weapon) as well as DD's "mid roll" position in panel 3 (to say nothing of Nuke's immolated form in panel 5)...  Just -beautiful-.

The mighty Yo Kuri has the page before this one, so you're in stellar company, and it was fun to review both pages, one in the context of each other.  This is next level, Simon, upping the game of your already incredible collection.  Sincere and -HUGE- congrats here, sir!
