Description

"Hither came Conan, the Cimmerian, black-haired, sullen-eyed, sword in hand, a thief, a reaver, a slayer, with gigantic melancholies and gigantic mirth, to tread the jeweled thrones of the Earth under his sandaled feet."

I have drawn Conan more times than I can count or remember, but I wanted this one to be my definitive interpretation of the character.

Digital paint over traditional pencils using Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and my Huion digital pen display. I really wanted this one to look like traditional art, so I painted over a layer of texture meant to simulate art or watercolor paper.

Thanks! It's actually a digital painting over a traditional pencil sketch done entirely in Adobe Photoshop using a Huion Digital Pen Display. I originally was going to make it a black and white ink drawing, but once I started applying the colors, I knew THAT was the way I wanted to go. Thanks again for checking out the art!

Took me till now to realize I uploaded this as 'pen and ink' instead of 'mixed media.' It is definitely NOT pen and ink. Digital painting off a traditional pencil skecth.
