Description

I purchased this piece right before OAX and picked it up at the convention. This was a CAF live purchase direct from Mike Vosburg. The episode was called "The Art of Comic Artist Mike Vosburg Interview and Art Sale" and aired November 21, 2024.

I wish there was more information regarding what this was used for, but either way how could I pass this piece up. Mike mentioned the unique pay rate of being paid by the character. Therefore, the art director told him to add a bunch of characters to increase the pay rate lol.

As a minor Harry Potter fan I thought it would be awesome to have a piece of original art. Additionally, my oldest and youngest daughters are big fans of the series. While I was at OAX I ended up bringing home some Harry Potter swag from Universal Studios for the kids. A perfect piece for their collection as they grow up and until then it fills the void for my own fandom.

The backstory about Vosburg being paid per character is a fun little insight into the world of licensing art. Whether or not the exact usage is known, it’s a fun piece to own, especially with the Mandrakes adding that classic Harry Potter charm. Even as a minor fan, having an original piece from the franchise is special, and it’s even better knowing it will eventually have meaning for your daughters as well.

pretty cool franchise to have a piece of whether for you or your daughters! maybe you'll stumble into how it was used eventually but it's fun either way

Such a great piece of history for your kids to own ! They will love it and cherish it better as they get older I'm sure.Dang I wish my dad that for me,lol.
