Description
Uh Oh. Somebody's in trouble! I'll give you a hint, it's not the guy leaping through the air. This is definitely my second favorite page from this chapter.

I wonder why the preliminary is so much smaller than the rest.

I don't know how anyone can splatter paint as precisely as Mutti

It's strategically done as Mutti gets the idea and wants to draw this using the paints right away and not lose the spark of inspiration.

This is an absolutely stunning splash page! Mutti’s use of splattered paint and wash creates such an intense, explosive atmosphere, perfectly capturing the chaos of battle. After all, what IS war, if not chaos, right? The composition is simple but teriffic. The leaping figure dominating the upper half is all energy and motion, while the two soldiers in the trench ground the scene, their hearts likely stuck in their throats, feeling a moment of dread and realization. The limited color palette adds to the raw, visceral impact. Where can I read Silverlake?!?
