I don't know nor understand much about first appearances (mostly because I don't care and/or am too stoopid, most likely) but the first appearance of the SUPER POWERS exhibited by the Sentry must be EVEN MORE important than the first appearance of the character himself, no?

I mean, before we see them on the page, he is either a plain civilian or a civilian dressed in a silly ass costume, no?

Your instincts are on point. Value is determined in the following way: You don't care about character unless he's a superhero. He isn't a super hero until he has super powers. He doesn't have super powers until this page. Therefore, this is the first page that matters. Simple logic.

Thank you! I have to say when I first saw this page I was super bummed that the dog disintegrated. Glad he is in one piece on the next page so I can enjoy this one guilt free :)
