Dampyr #172 (2014) pages 6-7: Enter my parlor, said the spider

Two rival gangs meet at a Roman mansion. The more established gang sizes up their new competition:

“There are five of them, just like they said.”

“Come on, let them in.”

“Is that why they call themselves ‘The Lady's Gang'? Is that the mysterious woman who leads them?”

“That's right.”

“She looks like she belongs in a nursing home! How does she keep her men together? With tea and pastries?”

“Beats me. I'm holding out for whiskey and whatnot.”

“From what I hear, these guys are basically bringing Rome to its knees. Aren't you curious to know who that woman is, and how they do it?”

“No, because we are still the ones who run this city. Everyone bows their heads at the mention of Mario Leone's gang.”

“Yes, but if Mario called tonight's shindig, it means he doesn’t underestimate them.”

“Says who? He couldn’t just sit around on his hands.”

“The fact is that I've never seen Mario go to such great lengths for any other rival gang.”

“Think about it. They came all the way here without worrying about an ambush.”

“So what?”

“To me, this says that they are much more naive and inexperienced than they make out to be.”

“Say, that’s a good point.”
