Gorgeous concept sketch of Cloud City architecture by Joe Johnston. This sketch (art paper 34cm x 27cm) is signed by Johnston (in 1979) and was published in the 1980 book �The Art of Star Wars - The Empire Strikes Back� (page 130). Pencil , markers & watercolor on paper�
This came from Michael Pangrazio, who joined the production of The Empire Strikes Back (he was recruited by Joe Johnston) as a matte painting artist�

Reflects a lot of the modern architecture trends of the times with smooth edifices and spacious openings. Cloud City was such a bright and clean place when seen from the outside.
