Description

The art that inspired the sculpt behind Sideshow Collectibles' Venom Comiquette. Also used as the officially licensed art print to come with the exclusive version of the statue.

Having been an owner of the Comiquette over 8 years ago, this piece brings back great memories of my time statue collecting. My first introduction to Ariel Olivetti's work was through Sideshow Collectibles and I've been following his work ever since. Over the last decade, I've owned quite a few pieces by Ariel but none nearly as perfect as this one. This Venom, IMO, is a quintessential example of his artistry. Masterful rendering, the use of blue hues to accentuate muscle definition. I mean... the guy helped publish a book on MONSTER anatomy... It's no wonder why everything in this piece just makes sense and "flows". I love how the muted base draws all your focus to Venom. The same way the statue did. Huge credit to Martin Canale who was able to capture the ferocity of this painting in his sculpture. Great Painting, Great Statue. Happy!

That's a killer Venom painting by Olivetti, and awesome how it relates to the statue and the art print as well as your collector journey. Feels like a very special pickup for you, congrats!

It's fantastic! I can't tell what came first, the statue or the art. Olivetti's art shows Venom as solid and blocky as a real life sculpture.

Talk about chasing nostalgia. I remember the FB statue collector days, the comiquette (which you convinced me to get), and collectors clambering to get the "exclusive" version. Full circle moment to own the original art to the art which was the source material for the best venom statue ever created. Huge congrats on this.
