An interior page from "I Created the Colossus!" from Tales of Suspense #14 p4.

Drawn by Jack Kirby and inked by Dick Ayers.

I got this page in a trade with Conrad Eschenberg back in the 90s. Even though the main monster Colossus is not pictured, I really enjoy the sci-fi elements on view. Great flying saucer panels at the top. A cool four-armed alien crab monster in the middle. And a killer double panel at the bottom.

Kirby really liked four-armed creatures and he drew them in several stories from the 50s on up to Jimmy Olsen in the 70s.

Notice in panel three where Dick Ayers misinterpreted Jack's pencils and shaded the space between the alien's arms on the right. I've posted a close up shot of the panel, as well as my sloppy attempt to correct the mistake. Also in this panel, you can see where Ayers erased the man's hand and repositioned it in the final inks.
