Description

Dan Spiegle - Unknown Comic Book Story Page Original Art (c. 1960s). Dan Spiegle's mastery of light and shadow, as well as his significant attention to detail, are on full display on this page apparently set during the British colonial period in India, a time marked by rail expansion and imperial legal systems. Given the art style and apparent time period, our best guess is that this would most likely have been created for an issue of Boris Karloff Tales of Mystery, though we were unable to confirm this. Ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 10" x 14.25". Dialogue written in blue pencil in several panels and pinholes in the top and center margins. Signed by Dan Spiegle in the second panel and in Excellent condition. -HA.com

Any chance of asking Dave Karlen (Spiegle's rep) where his page is from? This page is rich with historical accuracy with photo references.
