Description

An art school assignment asked Tina to draw something prompted by the word "suitcase." What spilled out was this gorgeous, fully rendered action scene inspired by Jackie Chan movies and the opening sequence of the film "Akira." The low angle emphasizes the danger of a high-speed motorcycle chase down crowded urban streets. Mechanical details on the chasing bikes heighten the realism, while the looks of alarm on the protagonists invest the reader emotionally. What's in the valise? Cash? The Infinity Gauntlet? The soul of Marsellus Wallace? We want to know.

Fantastic pencil illustration that gave me Akira vibes the moment I looked at the thumbnail but also interesting to hear about the Jackie Chan film inspriration which makes perfect sense and is very cool! Thanks for sharing the link will have to check out Tina's work more.

Hong Kong's traffic congestion would make this chase even more gripping with danger lurking just around the turn! Isola has th old school neon glow of the signs right!
