Description
3-2025...Some cool production backgrounds for 1960 Looney Tunes short with some very nice architecture!

We ain't afraid of mere wives, are we?" "That's right, Ralph! What are we? Men or..."

The brownstone building where Ralph Crumden and Ned Morton live makes for a great hand-painted production background with a cel overlay of the streetlight, and in two windows; find it in the film at the 2:03 mark, with shading to make it look like a night scene. This cartoon was the last of three inspired by Jackie Gleason's classic television series The Honeymooners; the short was directed by Robert McKimson and released to theaters on 8/20/1960.

Bob Singer was credited as background artist for this short; he would go on to be one of Hanna-Barbera's legendary artists and directors, where he worked on such projects as The Flintstones and the original Charlotte's Web. The art is painted in gouache on 3-peghole background board with a cel overlay; approximate size is 14" x 10.5". There are two tape pulls in the brick wall design to the far right; this part of the wall was not used in the film.
