Description

This is the frontspiece illo for Conan The Savage #8, published in March of 1996. It accompanied a story called 'Fate' that I wrote and drew for this ish.

*Note: I was hitchhiking extensively during this time, I would hitch for weeks and months at a time, across Canada and through America and Mexico. I lived out of my backpack, with tent and sleeping bag, food and water all stuffed in there. And drawing supplies, ha ha.

I would draw wherever I could hunch over a table for a while. And space was at a premium in my backpack, so I used the most basic supplies. I could not carry too much drawing paper with me, so I actually drew this frontspiece for this issue... on the BACK of the double splash credits pages I drew for my story! I have uploaded that double page layout also. So there are three drawings on these two pages.

I see CAF doesn't feature an 'art type' of 'frontspiece', so I've called it a 'pin up'. Basically the same thing, frontspiece just refers to where the pin up is located: inside the front cover.
