LOGAN - Mike Lorenzo - SDCC 2025

SDCC Artist Alley is always so fun to explore and the great art and artists you can find while there. We were walking around the booths and at one of inside corner booths we found this artist, Mike Lorenzo. It was his first SDCC and he was coming from Denver. Some of his headshot art caught out attention from afar, we came closer to his booth to check some of it out. He has all sorts of fun pieces and was selling both prints and originals. New was really great to talk with and we enjoyed hearing about his style and technique. We were really surprised by how inexpensive his original art was ($50, for a piece around 8”x10”) and how he was able to get such great likeness details in his watercolors. Fantastic lighting, shading, textures, form and even the bit of golden yellow he used to highlight top left section of head and face. His choices for texturing and what to highlight and show even in the clothing is really well done. An artist we hope to see more of and see again at comic con.

Love the stoicness of this as Logan stares off into a future that does not include him. All those scars that even his healing factor can't mend!

Amazing likeness and exceptional tonal watercolor work by the artist. For that price it's a heckuva bargain too, nice SDCC find!
