Description
The Warlord is not a comic that I EVER read. Not the original Mike Grell run or any of the subsequent runs. Sword and sorcery just never interested me. It still doesn't (mostly) but I completely understand the appeal. Don't hold it against me, okay?

So why would I pick up this page? Well look at it! This Bart Sears created eye-candy was more than I could resist. A guy wielding two swords while standing on two winged horses over a rabble hoard is such a dynamic image! And that guy in the front. Bart really nailed his face full of fear.

Dang... I might have to go find some back issues now. I mean... publishing almost 140 issues must mean Mike Grell's brainchild must be pretty good.

There's 3 layers of art to get through here with Warlord, the charging horses, and the foreground characters' reactions!  All of it makes for cover style imagery full of what Sears does best.

I'm glad this found a good home and someone who appreciates it! Not sure if this version is the same as Grell's, but it is a pretty awesome picture!

Were you selling this at one time?  I saw it for sale on CAF once but it was too late to purchase.  I was thrilled (and very surprised) to see it in an auction.  And to be blunt, I was STUNNED that more people didn't bid on this.  It is such a dynamic image.  PLUS... Sears' art seems to be appreciating in value.  So fortunate to have it part of my collection.
