Description

I still remember seeing this crazy, futuristic, sci fi animation show on MTV in the early 90's for the first time. Innovative, visually stunning, and the heroine shockingly dies at the end of the adventure. This was Aeon Flux. Recently, the creator, Peter Chung, put some animation cels and drawings up for auction. This was from the original pilot episode, rather than the regular seasonal TV show. From the Heritage auction description for these pieces:

"Composed of three cels displayed on a printed background for presentation purposes, this 12 field setup bears the signature of series creator Peter Chung. The piece is joined by three matching original animation drawings rendered in graphite and color pencil on three sheets of 12 field animation paper. In addition, this lot includes a bonus cel of Æon from the shot.

The additional images are included below. really happy to have this in my collection. While I don't know the name of the specific animator, I am listing Peter Chung as the creator since this was his vision.

People argued all the time if this was anime or not. Very avant garde for the time and actually helped build interest in the burgeoning market of anime imports.

Such a cool addition to your collection! I've got fond memories of this from back in the MTV days as well. Not sure I even fully comprehended what I was watching back then but it certainly drew you in. Awesome cel and set of accompanying illustrations, congrats on the HA win and additions!
